The grill that leans into the joke

The Heart Attack Grill started in Arizona and later moved to downtown Las Vegas, where it still serves its hospital-themed menu. Waitresses dress as nurses, customers wear hospital gowns, and the burgers are named after heart surgery. ABC News reported the Quadruple Bypass Burger at about 9,982 calories, weighing over three pounds.

The joke has a serious side, and the restaurant hasn’t hidden it. In 2013 its unofficial spokesman, a regular customer, died after a heart attack outside the restaurant, as CBS News and the Las Vegas Sun reported.

For perspective: US dietary guidelines suggest roughly 1,600 to 3,000 calories a day for most adults. The Quadruple Bypass covers several days in one sitting. We’ll have the side salad, thanks.

Would you say that some tastes are worth dying for? Well, that’s how grill located in Phoenix Arizona is advertising it’s menu. The Bigges burger on the fittingly named “Heart Attack Grill” menu is called Quadruple Bypass Burger. The burger has no less than 8000 Calories (That’s about four times the amount of calories recommended for a grown man to consume per day!). On the side of your burger you might want to enjoy some filter free cigarettes, Jolt Cola with extra caffeine and of course fries deep-fried in pure lard! Well, if it brings any comfort, at least the grill waitresses are dressed up as nurses. Heart attack Grill as featured in the Japanese TV after the jump.
