How is this barbaric? Americans put pigs, chickens, cows, etc in tiny disease infested pens that the animals can not even move. We pump them full of hormones, & drugs to keep them alive and fat. Before we slaughter them by the hundreds an thousands, slice them up and display them for everyone to salivate over before they decide which body part to eat.

Yeah, Anthony put it well. As “barbaric” as we think it is to eat one part of an animal, we turn around and show our hypocrisy by snacking down on almost every other part of the animal.

This is slightly wrong, the one on the left is a chimp, which an ape, and the one on the right is a monkey. It would be totally illegal to eat the ape.

yes well, we eat lamb brains but lamb is a well known meat, but i don’t have an experience of ordering chimp meat or leg of ape, so my instincts tell me that it would be wrong to eat monkey, poor little monkey. then agian poor little lamb, i wonder if it is nice meat, i’ve had a few different meats but never monkey, do they eat them in other countries, if so then its not really cruel its just foodchain i guess. yuk yuk oooh nope not for me.

A bit too high up the food chain in my mind. Chimps are highly social, intelligent, and feel emotion. I may be a hypocrite, but can we say that eating a chimp is different (morally?) than eating fish? Dunno… but I’ll stick to regular surf n turf.
